ERP software development in the UAE
Custom ERP software development for UAE businesses: finance, inventory, sales and operations in one system, ready for FTA VAT and UAE e-invoicing.
What this involves
An ERP replaces the stack of accounting software, spreadsheets and disconnected apps that most growing businesses end up with, so a sale moves the stock, raises the invoice and posts to the ledger in one step. We build custom ERP systems for UAE businesses covering finance, inventory, purchasing, sales, projects and the links to HR and payroll, designed around how you actually trade. Because we build and run our own ERP product, Muhasib, we know what the region requires in practice: FTA-compliant VAT invoices, bilingual English and Arabic documents, multi-entity and multi-currency groups, and invoice data ready for the UAE e-invoicing programme. This page is about bespoke ERP development. If a ready product fits your business, Muhasib may be the quicker and cheaper route, and we will tell you which side of that line you are on.
Questions
Signs you have outgrown your accounting software
- Stock and accounts never agree
- Inventory lives in one system or spreadsheet and the ledger in another, and month end means reconciling the two by hand.
- Several entities, several systems
- Each company in the group has its own books, and consolidation is a spreadsheet exercise.
- Purchasing happens outside the system
- Purchase requests and approvals run on email, so commitments are invisible until the invoice arrives.
- Costs cannot be traced to jobs
- Projects, contracts or batches cannot be costed without manual allocation.
- VAT returns need a manual workbook
- Tax figures are rebuilt from exports each quarter instead of coming straight from the ledger.
- Every new branch adds a workaround
- Growth is held back because the systems do not scale with locations, currencies or users.
Custom ERP, Muhasib or a global ERP?
There are three realistic routes, and the right one depends on how distinctive your processes are and how much change your team can absorb.
- Muhasib, our ready ERP
- Fastest to start, with UAE VAT, Arabic invoices, multi-branch and multi-currency already built in. Subscription pricing and configuration rather than development. Best when your processes are close to standard trading, retail, services or contracting.
- A global ERP such as Odoo or SAP Business One
- Broad functionality and large partner ecosystems, with licence and implementation costs that vary widely. Best when you need a specific module set the product does well and can work largely within its standard processes.
- A custom ERP
- Built around your workflow, with no per-user licence and full control of the data model, at the cost of a longer build and ongoing maintenance. Best when your process is a competitive advantage or no product fits without heavy customisation.
Modules we build
- Finance and accounting
- General ledger, receivables and payables, bank reconciliation, cost centres, multi-entity consolidation and VAT reporting from the same ledger.
- Inventory and warehousing
- Multi-warehouse stock, batches and serial numbers, transfers, stock counts and valuation that posts to the ledger automatically.
- Purchasing
- Purchase requests, approval limits, purchase orders, goods received notes and three-way matching against supplier invoices.
- Sales and invoicing
- Quotations, sales orders, delivery notes and bilingual tax invoices, with customer credit limits and price lists.
- Projects and job costing
- Budgets, costs and billing tracked per project or contract, including progress billing and retention for contractors.
- HR and payroll links
- Employee records, payroll postings and the links to your payroll and WPS process, either built in or integrated.
UAE compliance built in
VAT in the UAE is charged at 5%, and a full tax invoice must carry specific details, including the supplier’s TRN, the date, a description of the goods or services, and the VAT amount. We build invoicing so these fields are always present, VAT treatment is applied per line, and the VAT return can be produced from the ledger rather than a separate workbook.
The UAE e-invoicing programme changes how B2B invoices are exchanged. Per the Ministry of Finance timeline, a pilot runs from 1 July 2026, businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more go live on 1 January 2027, and other businesses on 1 July 2027. Invoices will be exchanged in a structured Peppol-based format through Accredited Service Providers. An ERP needs clean, structured invoice data and an integration with your chosen provider. Requirements are still being published, so we review this section regularly and recommend you confirm the current position with the MoF and FTA.
Corporate tax adds its own reporting needs, which are much easier to meet when your chart of accounts, entities and cost centres are set up properly. We also build for multi-entity groups, multiple currencies and bilingual documents.
Integrations, implementation and data migration
An ERP sits at the centre of your systems, so integrations are part of the core scope: POS terminals, your online store, bank feeds and payment gateways, courier platforms and your CRM. We implement in phases so the business keeps running throughout.
- 1. Process review
- Map how money, stock and documents move today, and agree what the system must do on day one versus later.
- 2. Design and configuration
- Chart of accounts, entities, approval rules, document templates and user roles agreed and built.
- 3. Data migration
- Opening balances, customers, suppliers, items and open transactions cleaned and imported, with trial runs you check before cut-over.
- 4. Parallel running and go-live
- A period of checking results against the old system where practical, training for each team, then go-live at a sensible period end.
- 5. Support and extension
- Fixes, reports and further modules added once the core is stable.
Serving businesses across the emirates
Much of the demand for ERP comes from trading, manufacturing and contracting businesses in Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, as well as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The system is cloud-hosted, so branches, warehouses and sites in different emirates work on the same live data, and we can run workshops and training on site.
We also build ERP solutions shaped for particular sectors, including construction, manufacturing, retail and trading and distribution.
