Customer and partner portal development in Dubai

Customer portal development in Dubai for B2B firms: self-service ordering, statements, invoices, tickets and document exchange, connected to your ERP.

What this involves

If your staff spend their days answering "where is my order", "can you resend that invoice" and "what is my balance", a portal is usually the fix. We build logged-in self-service portals for UAE B2B businesses: customer portals for orders, statements and invoices; partner, dealer and sub-agent portals with their own pricing and credit limits; supplier portals for purchase orders and document exchange; and client portals for documents and support tickets. The portal is only useful if its data is right, so we treat the connection to your ERP, CRM and accounting system as the centre of the project rather than an afterthought. Every portal is bilingual where you need it, secured by role, and designed so customers can actually find what they came for. If your ERP vendor’s own portal module would do the job, we will tell you that first.

Questions

A customer portal is a secure, logged-in area where customers can see and act on their own information: orders, deliveries, statements, invoices, documents and support requests. You probably need one if staff spend significant time answering status questions, resending documents or taking repeat orders by phone or email.

Yes, and it usually should. Orders, stock, prices, statements and invoices are read from the ERP, and orders or requests placed in the portal are written back. Depending on your ERP’s API, that happens in near real time or on a frequent schedule.

Yes. Each partner organisation can have multiple users with different roles, its own price lists or commissions, and a credit limit or prepaid balance that the portal checks before accepting an order.

If your ERP offers a portal module that covers what your customers need, and you can live with its design and limits, it is often the cheaper and quicker option. A custom portal makes sense when you need workflows the module does not support, a better customer experience, data from several systems, or partner-specific pricing and credit rules.

Yes. We integrate your payment gateway so customers can pay outstanding invoices by card or other supported methods, with the payment recorded against the invoice in your accounts.

Cost is driven by the number of portal types and user roles, the features in each, the quality of your ERP or CRM APIs, payment integration, bilingual requirements and data migration. We estimate after a short scoping exercise and often recommend starting with one portal type and the features that remove the most manual work.

Portal types we build

Most B2B portals fall into one of four types. Many businesses start with one and add others later on the same foundation.

Customer self-service portals
Order history and status, delivery tracking, statements of account, downloadable tax invoices and credit notes, reorder from past orders, and online invoice payment.
Partner, dealer and sub-agent portals
Partner-specific price lists or commissions, credit limits or prepaid wallets, order and booking placement, marketing material and performance reports. A distributor portal that blocks orders above the dealer’s credit limit is a typical example.
Supplier portals
Purchase orders, delivery confirmations, invoice upload, document and certificate management, and payment status, which cuts the email traffic between purchasing, finance and suppliers.
Client document and ticket portals
Secure document exchange, project or case updates, support tickets with status, and approvals, suited to service firms, contractors and facilities companies.

Core features

Login and roles
Company accounts with multiple users, role-based permissions, invitations and secure sign-in, with two-factor authentication where appropriate.
ERP-synced data
Orders, stock, prices, statements and invoices drawn from your back office so the portal always matches your records.
Payments
Online invoice payment and prepaid top-ups through your gateway, reconciled automatically.
Notifications
Email, SMS or WhatsApp updates on orders, deliveries, invoices and ticket status.
Arabic and English
Bilingual interface with right-to-left layout for Arabic, and documents in the language each customer prefers.
Documents
Secure upload and download of invoices, contracts, certificates and delivery notes, with access controlled per company and user.

Connecting the portal to your ERP, CRM and accounting

The portal is a window onto your back-office data, so the integration decides whether it is useful. Where your ERP has a good API, we read and write in near real time: a customer sees today’s stock and the order they placed a minute ago. Where it does not, we sync on a frequent schedule and make the timing clear in the interface.

Invoices shown in the portal must meet FTA tax invoice requirements, which is easiest when they come straight from the ERP rather than being regenerated. Note also that the UAE e-invoicing programme, with mandatory phases from 1 January 2027 for larger businesses and 1 July 2027 for others, will change how B2B invoices are formally exchanged; a portal remains useful for visibility and payment, but the official exchange will run through Accredited Service Providers. Confirm current requirements with the MoF and FTA.

Security and access control

A portal opens your systems to people outside the company, so security is central. Every request is checked against the user’s company and role, so one customer can never see another’s data. Sensitive actions, such as changing bank details or placing large orders, can require additional approval. Logins, downloads and changes are recorded in an audit trail.

Portal users are individuals, so their personal data falls under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law. We collect only what is needed, let customer administrators manage their own users, and support data export and deletion requests.

Build a portal or use your ERP vendor’s add-on?

Many ERPs offer a portal module. If it shows what your customers need, your ERP is the only data source, and you can accept its design and workflow, use it: it will be quicker and cheaper.

A custom portal is worth it when you need partner-specific pricing, credit or commission rules the module cannot handle, when data comes from more than one system, when the customer experience is part of how you compete, or when you need Arabic and English done properly. We will look at what your ERP offers before recommending a build.

How a portal project runs

1. Scope
Agree portal types, user roles, features and the data each needs from your systems. A short requirements brief helps.
2. Integration review
Check your ERP and CRM APIs, data quality and the sync approach before design is finalised.
3. Design
Prototype the main journeys and test them with a few real customers or partners.
4. Build and pilot
Build in stages and pilot with a small group of customers before opening the portal to everyone.
5. Roll out and support
Invite users in waves, monitor usage and support queries, and add features based on what customers actually do.
